What´s the difference between wachuma and ayahuasca?
Let´s start a bit with some similarities between both masters plants.
Both rituals require:
- Intentional preparation
- Respect and gratitud
- A serious self- preparation
- Conscientious and long term integration
- Vulnerability, acceptance and a willingness to forgive and let go of the past or current structures of belief.
- Adherence to our medical and dietary guidelines ayahuasca and wachuma are both ancestral medicines with a significance history for healing and teaching through re- connection and shifts in emotional persperctives. It is the continuation of the respectful and authentic tradition of ceremony.
Ayahuasca is a preparation of two jungle plants; ayahuasca vine and the leaves of the psychotria viridis shrub, locally call us chacruna. Although the chacruna is considered a masculine energy and ayahuasca brew is considered a feminine energy, often referred to as mother ayahuasca. Each ayahuasca experience can be enormously diverse, ranging from a mild physical or emotional sensations to a profound purification episode with severe purging. Many participants describe having encounters with a highly intelectual entity who seemingly reminds them of the information that they have forgotten along their life journey. It is this entity that we call mother ayahuasca, a loving but sometimes stric person who takes a direct interest in our personal lives and guides us towards understanding our better potentials and capacty for growth. Participants connect to this spirit intelligence and experience and understanding of both physical and mental blockages or obstacles which may be a death and rebirth experience to leave the old behind and begin again with new motivation and courage.
Wachuma or know as san pedro cactus is often described as the masculine being, teacher, guide plant of the andes and its use has been traced back to thousands of years ago. the effects of the plant medicine are both deeply internal self- introspection and expansively immersive within the rich surroundind environment. We can describe bliss and inner-peace and an understanding of matters that previously were not available to them; an increase in emotionally intuitive information, feelings and sentiments that pass like waves and leave them nostalgically displaced. We can also report an ability to hold an inner dialogue with nature, plants, treea, flowers and all cosmic beings. There are also few cases where deeper and more serious cleansing and curing is taking effect, and it is often explained that wachuma can provide a space for mother ayahuasca to continue her committed work. We recommend that participants begin with an ayahuasca ceremony and follow up with a wachuma ceremony in order to gently connect to nature on a more profound level, leaving them grounded and ready to inttegrated for their return.

We are at 3399 m (11151.57 feet) so the air is usually cool and dry during the night and sunny during the day. You can check weather.com for an accurate 10-day forecast for your Ayahuasca retreat.
The rainy season is typically from December through March. The dry season from end of March to November. However, the weather can be very unpredictable, so it is always useful to have a rain jacket.
Bring warm clothes for the evenings, as it can get chilly, and bring a hat and/or sun block, and lip balm. And especially bring a rain poncho if you are coming in the rainy season (Dec – Mar). Having a notebook or Journal might be useful as well for recording your thoughts and helping with your integration.
Please also bring a personal water container, if possible, to avoid plastic pollution. We will provide fresh filtered water. And finally, bring a small flashlight (optional) .
Please bring a “warm light” flashlight, not the white led ones since it would be too bright for use it inside the temple.

What should I expect in terms of healing?
Expect nothing, accept everything. Expectations can become a barrier to your experience. Instead, come as empty as you can, become a blank list of paper, and allow the medicine to make the drawing for you. This image will be more beautiful than the one you try to create with your mind. you need to form an intention for this work, which serves you as a guide. However, don’t get too focused on it and leave room for the medicine to show you whatever it thinks you need to see and understand.
Can Huachuma help with alcohol and drug addictions?
Yes, Huachuma can help but it is up to you to maintain a new lifestyle after the shift. Huachuma can show you the way but it is up to you to walk it. Although it is different for different people. It takes some time to reset your mindset and behavior patterns.
It’s important to understand that you are responsible for your healing and its maintenance after the healing work you do in Peru. If you relapse back into your old habits, the blame is on you. The medicine provides you with an opportunity and a fresh start. What you choose to do with it it’s entirely up to you.
I TAKE MEDICATION, IS THIS OK WITH THE AYAHUASCA CEREMONIES?

How to prepare myself for a spiritual journey
To prepare your mind, body and spiritfor your spiritual journey also is very importan, we recommendedyou to do any discipline familiarto you from your own faith, such as meditation, Preyer and yoga. If you do not have a specific practice you can send your intentions and wishes to all creatures in the morning and at night. Getting in the right mindset can help you to embrace your spiritual cennection during your sacred journey. you can have any Good shaman to conducte your ceremonies but if your heart does not want to change, then nothing will happen. Only you have the power to change your Destiny; your own heart is in fact the right shaman for yourself in this universe. The best attitude is one of positivity; the right attitude includes: honesty, olve, respect, strong mental, spiritual determination, humility, patience and courage. Approachin with these values will result in a fruitful experience. When you pray do not ask for miracles to mysteriously occur. Instead that ask for opportunities to créate miracles with your own hands.
What language is spoken in the retreat?
Our retreats are facilitated in English and we require all participants to speak at least a conversational level of English in order to attend.
Why do people vomit or “purge” with Ayahuasca?
With the initial work focused on cleansing and purifying your physical body to prepare you for the next stages, one quite reasonable expectation is that you will experience a physical and energetic detoxification in the form of purging.
The purge can be an important part of the ceremony experience, yet not everyone purges in the first ceremonies or even at all. The purge usually takes the form of vomiting, but sometimes takes the form of diarrhea. It is an energetic release that can help to clear vibrational imprints and emotional blockages as well as physical toxins. Many people purge in their initial ceremony experiences, and move into deeper experiences as these blockages are released. Other people experience the reverse: they do not purge early on but have cleansing purges in later experiences.
